He has composed over 1,000 pieces for a wide variety of ensembles, including small groups, concert bands, symphonic music, big bands, and film scores, spanning elementary, intermediate, and advanced levels.
William Cepeda he has dedicated his life to empowering Puerto Rican music through educational projects that introduce the island’s rich musical heritage to a wider audience.
This album is a heartfelt tribute to our roots, especially to plena, a genre born in the vibrant barrios of Puerto Rico that we call "the sung newspaper." I wanted to merge this rich tradition with jazz, exploring new forms and sounds to take our music to exciting horizons.
A meticulously assembled album and released earlier this year and now to full distribution, “The Sound of Puerto Rican Jazz” is produced, arranged and is the brainchild of Jazz artist and trombone virtuoso, William Cepeda.
